ArcelorMittal Orbit & The Slide

A legacy in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

  • Take in the amazing views at two observation platforms on the top of this magnificent structure made of 35,000 bolts.
  • That's enough steel to make 265 double-decker buses!
  • On a clear day, you can see for over 20 miles in all directions...
  • Turn your world upside down with Anish Kapoor’s famous concave mirrors, immerse yourself in the innovative touchscreens and take in the sounds of the city as you descend the 455 stairs.

Are you brave enough to take the plunge?

  • Calm your nerves at the top of the Orbit in the two viewing galleries.
  • Gather your thoughts, strap yourself in... and experience 40 seconds of pure slipping, sliding madness on the 178-metre record-breaking slide!
  • Riders will travel at speeds of up to 15mph as the slide loops its way around the sculpture twelve times, taking in gentle curves, thrilling drops and a tight corkscrew named ‘the bettfeder’ – bedspring in German.
